Introduction: The Synonymous Nature of Father and Goodness
Blessed, blessed father say today, and, and the word father and goodness is kind of synonymous or supposed to be. You know, because we live in a broken, fallen world. There are many unsafe fathers or those who profess Christian but don’t behave like Christian fathers. But, uh, we thank God for, have been blessed with. Good fathers, if not literally, uh, fathers by influence. Maybe a father school teacher, maybe an uncle, maybe a grandpa, you know, like a father figure. So we are thankful not just our own father, but for the father figure and our, you know, and really in the Bible, father is more about relationship than physical connection because God and Jesus, the son biologically, you know, and uh, that Adam was called the God though. Uh, he wasn’t pathologically related, obviously. And, uh, so we see many father son relationships in the Bible that were not father son because of biological relationship or DA, but because of the unity, uh, father figure. So we’re gonna talk about the goodness of the father in land full of that. This. All our news is, is bleak is not so good. You turn on the tv, you read the newspaper. Um, so we want to focus and honor our father, it heaven by being reminded of how and why he’s good to us.
Opening Prayer
The father may just thank you, Lord, that we can. Be here because you gifted us with the fathers that you used to bring us into this world. We thank you, father for saving us the spirit of adoption. We thank you, father for the grace. We thank you that we can call you our Father. You have not given us the spirit of care but our power. Love the samine. And we thank you Lord for teaching us, um, revealing more of yourself to us. Lord, we would appreciate you not just as God, not just as creator, as judge. But to know you as a Heavenly Father, our Father, heaven, we just thank you, father, for your goodness, for your mercy, and thank you for giving us yes to hear. Know your voice and you give us the mind of Christ and renew your minds. Transform our heart. We need faith as we hear your word, that your love for us will transform us. The revelation and experience of your father main changes when we become vessels and channels of your glory. In Jesus name, amen.
The Goodness of God as Father
You know, one of the most, um, aspects of God, his father is his goodness. And many times, instead of using the word that the Bible uses the word glory. You know, and I’m just going to read two verses from the Old Testament and one from the new that talk about the goodness of God as father using the word glory. Habakkuk two 14 says, the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Okay, the knowledge of the Glory Access Study three 18. Okay. In 19, Moses prayed. God showed me a glory, and God replied, I will make my goodness pass for you. And I proclaim the name of the Lord. So when Moses asked to see God’s glory, God replied by saying, my goodness will pass for you. James one 17 says, every good and perfect gift is strong above and comes down from the father of lights.
Goodness Based on Relationship, Not Performance
So why is goodness connected to fatherhood? Because every father is not good to his child or children because of anything they have done or can do right from more from day one on birth to they’re dependent to they decide earning or working at their own or father’s good force to his kids because he’s the father. Not because they perfectly behave children, not because they’re top students, not because they do everything right all the time. It’s not based on their performance. It’s not even based on their character. It’s not based on their abilities. It’s based on relationship. So everything a child receives from his father is because a fatherhood assumption, whether your son or daughter. So, so unlike many other relationships, it’s based on what they can get back into 10, right? The father does not bless for what the child can. But because of pure love, because, hey, I’m your father. You my child. I bless you. That is what the heart of the father is. He blesses it because he created this, he promise this. I said, Lord wants us to remind us that every good and perfect, not some good and perfect gifts, but every good and perfect gift is from above, from the Father. And this is so important because the goodness in our lives, the big experience is not of our own ability. Though we have a part to play, obviously, right? We have to work with, to do things, to be blessed. But the, the ability to do what we do to be blessed is by the Father’s grace, right? He gives us the help, the strength, the mind, the favor with our employer, the favor with our colleagues, the favor with those investors in different ways. ’cause the Bible says even favor comes from the Father. So not for his favor upon the channels of blessing to us. Nobody bless us without us. So what people do that is good for us comes from the Father and heaven to God’s favor with them, right? So even Jesus declares that his goodness is not from himself. When you prayed in John 17, verse 22, he said, the glory. This is Jesus prayer saying the glory Father you gave me, I them. Isn’t that amazing? Jesus says, didn’t say the glory I have is from me. Even the son acknowledges that the glory upon his life is from the Father. It’s not from himself. It’s not because of who he is. Doesn the son of God is, is from himself, but because he’s, you know, so holding a good, no, the glory on his life is given from the Father. Why that we may be one. Just the, so the. Of God’s goodness is to turn our hearts towards him. And Jesus said he has given the same goodness to fathers and children on earth, right? So that the purpose is that his goodness would turn our hearts to each other. So how does the devil keep that from happening? And us believe the lie that everything and anything good in our lives has got nothing to do with our father. It has nothing to do with God, everything to do with this. I’m a self-made man, right? And when did this life first occur? And that’s the sin that all have fallen short. All have sin and fallen short of God’s glory. Why? Because the servant intent believe that she can receive witness from meeting the tree, though the father said otherwise. So she believed the lie that she didn’t need the father to bless her. She can get the blessing from the forbidden truth. So the enemy is wife, Mary say, no, no, Don, don’t give God the credit. It’s your hard work. It’s y’all just lucky God bless. No dog. Got nothing to do with it. And by receiving the time, we become very. Self-dependent or independent of God. It’s Why do I car? And that’s why the devil wants many people to be as wealthy as possible, to keep them from beating God. ’cause the end of the day, many become safe through a need. So there have no need by you God. Right? And so few, obviously a few can count to God in different ways, but most new believers get saved because God met the means that no man could. So the devil can keep you from. Depending on someone else other than yourself, you try his best to give yourself sufficient self-dependent, right? In fact, remember when the disciple called Jesus good, and what did Jesus replied in Mark 10 18. Jesus said to him, why do you call me good? No one is good, but what does is God? What is he saying? He’s not saying that he’s bad, but he’s saying, Hey, I’m not the salsa maker. Comes from my father. So Jesus is so carefully give all glory to the Father that everything good upon his life is from the Father, not from himself.
The Purpose of God’s Goodness: Leading to Repentance
So again, what’s the purpose of knowing the goodness of God? Romans do. Verse forces do despise the riches of his goodness. Forbearance along Suffolk, not knowing that the goodness of God leads us to retention. What’s the word? We mentions The goodness of God. The purpose of God’s goodness is to draw us closer to him. You see, you cannot, uh, you cannot appreciate anyone that you’re not thankful for and you will not be thankful for anyone that you feel that got nothing to do with the blessing in your life. So the, we need a revelation. That’s what I began this morning. The earth will be filled with the knowledge of his glory. See, the earth is filled with his glory already, but we don’t have the knowledge of it, and that’s why we many think they don’t need God. When you realize that the favor on your life is because of God, you become thankful, become dependent, you become more beautiful. Thank God. Yes. I thank you for everything in my life that is beyond my control, right? In fact, what we received through our, our Earth dads oftentimes will circumstances that gave us, it stuck right the beginning. We, we were in a harder situation. Those were born in more challenging situations. Those were born in orphanages. Those were born without a family. They had it a lot harder than those of us were blessed with fathers and mothers. So when we realized that, wow, God, we’re so good, and we don’t judge him by what he hasn’t done or what he’s not doing or what’s going wrong, we become thankful. So the enemy can keep us from recognizing the goodness of the Father. He can keep us less dependent upon him, less thankful upon him. More self-sufficient. Self-dependent, right?
Repentance and Transformation
So why is it so important? So what does it mean that the goodness economy, just repentance. The word repent means to change the way we think, right? Someone said, you know, the word like pen, it like penthouse, highest level thinking. The mind crisis right at the top. We had to come back to turn around 180 degrees because the way we think impacts how we speak and what we do. The fruit of our words and actions is a reflection of our thinking. That’s so important because it’s not our information that we have, but how we think, you know, it’s possible to, to gain a lot of good information, but never change the way we think. And the difference is be renewed, not be informed. The word of God always is being renewed in our minds, not being informed. And many times renewing begins with information, but the information has to change to revelation, to change to everything. And if all we do is receive information, but we don’t get a revelation by the Holy Spirit, we can know a lot of things, but doesn’t change how we think, how we live, how we speak. It doesn’t release faith. So how does the knowledge of Godlessness supposed to change the way we think by making us more like him? So that’s the key element advantage because we have transformed Romans 12 to Bible renewing of our minds, not the informing of our minds. So you see there a lot of Bible school students, PhD in theology, but all they have information and they never changed the same people before they started Bible school and after. ’cause all they have done is gain information for lack of revelation. Also thinking the whole mindsets and the way we think determines how we live. How we respond to life, to situations, to people. So God wants us to recognize his goodness so that it changes the way we think, that we become dependent upon him, grateful to him, and become more like his son. Right? And why? Why is that important? Because that’s how we recognize as well. Romans cross says, do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed. Be changed by the renewing of your mind. That you may prove the good, acceptable, and perfect God will help God. So we are not being changed. We will never discern this will, and this is so important because knowing the will of God is not just a matter of knowing what the Bible says. Are you being changed to discern this will? Because the will of God is not just black and white in the Bible, it’s everyday choices. How do you make the bad choice according to the world? Are you being transformed to recognize this world? Knowledge alone will show you what his will is. The more you become like him, the more you do or know what to do. It’s what he would do. It’s what we used to say. You know, do what Jesus would do. WW G, what would Jesus do? Years ago there was a big, bad, bad, the band. Everything was WWJG. What would Jesus do? But we would never know what Jesus would do. We not become like him. So Romans 12, two says, not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind to be able to discern the of God. A lot of people are find are struggling to know that world without wanting to become one again. They sort of, the old fruits and the flesh, they unchanged and never be able to recognize the will of God.
Becoming Like Our Heavenly Father
So that’s number one, to recognize this world and becoming like him. Secondly, becoming like a father in heaven, which greatest joy to every healthy father, right? Many times it’s used negatively life. Just like this father, you know, the chip or the whole block every often, sometimes media negatively, hi. You see the child. Terrible. But sometimes it’s used positively, right? And every parent loves to hear that. Every dad loves to hear that. Wow. You know, some strength in their child reminds others of themselves. And so how much more Father Heaven loves to have kids Who reminds the world? Of him. It’s just like a father now. Right? I remember this, um, this joke of this, this child who was only well behave when he wanted something from his father or from, you know, from his parents. So we didn’t need anything that was very daunting. So when he became very well, then the mother knew, oh, even ask for something. So one day she very upset with son, said, son, why you only good when you want something? Why can’t we be like your father was good for nothing? It’s like our behavior is not to earn the goodness of God. Right? That’s why the father is good, because no matter how knocking the child is, the father’s best in the child, the father doesn’t say, oh, you are very knocking boy today. You sleep outside the house. No food for you. No, you still enjoy everything in the house no matter how bad your behavior was, as long as they’re I when. But father’s blessed because of relationship, not because it is earned or deserved or anything, the child to back. So God wants us to resemble him, which is why he made you and me in this image, right? But why are we not becoming like him? Because of the sin synagogue, the power of men. But right from the beginning, Genesis 1 27. It says, God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female, right? So becoming like the father and son is not a gender issue. It’s not only the, the males can become the God, the father, the females are by the way, right now. God, the father and son put some of the nature in the male and some of the nature in the female. So together, present the full picture. The father heart and many times the father described with feminine features, all the names of God is Al shall died. The main vegetable. He’s like a mother hand that covers his children. So we see characteristics of God that, that are both described, man and woman. So together we are so called to represent the nature of God ’cause we’ve been made in the image of God created to be like the Father and son in our character. So it’s not about gender becoming like Christ. It’s not about. Only for the men, only for the males, but it’s about being his children. Being his children. And this is the very reason why the father sent Jesus. You know, a lot of people think, you know, Jesus came, the father sent Jesus just to, to die across the rise of their day, to forgive us of all our sins, you know, to, to, to show us how to live, to do miracles and, and, and to give us salvation. Yes. But that’s half the story. What’s the foundation of the story? Everything Jesus did was to reveal the power. You realize that Colossians one 15 says, he is the image of the invisible God. So you wanna know how God, the power looks like we to discern the Son. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the first part of our creation. In fact, in John 14, verse seven, Jesus said, if you really know me, you’ll know my father as well. From now on, you do know him, and I seen him. And verse eight, Philip said, Lord, show us the Father, and that’s enough for us. And Jesus answered, don’t you know me, Philip, even after I’ve been around me such a long time that anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, show us the Father? So Jesus came to reveal the Father. So everything Jesus did was revealed the heart of the Father. So when you heal the sick, that’s the father’s heart to keep you well. When you did miracles, that’s the heart of the Father, to heal you, to deliver you. So Jesus came out to, not to reveal himself, but to reveal the father’s heart. Just like Jesus said, I, I came to do my father’s work. That whatever he says is because of He heard the father say Whatever he does is what he saw the Father do, right? So everything Jesus said and did was what he saw, saw his father do, and heard his father say, so why is this important? Because as he was, so are we called to be. Yeah, that’s our destination. Romans, you know, many Christians does this, but God makes all things work together for good. All things work together for uh, what is the good, you know, good, whatever. The Bible is very specific on what the good is. Yeah. What’s the good, the God wants to make all things work together for. That’s Romans 8 28 and the good is reveal the next verse, Romans 8 29. For those God for you, he predestined to be conformed to the image. Wow. So the ultimate assignment and destination for you and me is for us to become more like the Islam and God will use circumstances to lead us to that end result. To change this, you know, someone said you sometimes we don’t change because of good. The carrot, our changes from the the steam. First choice is Canada. That doesn’t work. Doesn’t right? Many times we change through tough times, but he wants his kindness to Jesus, his repentance, not the hard knocks of life. Why is this so important? You know, delicious. Four 19. This was Paul’s prayer for this, for the believers, my dear children, whom I am again in the pain of childbirth until Christ is formed in. That’s the purpose of discipleship. That’s the purpose of, that’s how we grow in maturity. How you recognize the mature Christian one is becoming more like Christ, not perfect, but right, but always becoming more very work in progress. So hopefully we have more like Christ in our thinking, in our attitudes, in our words, in our behavior. Hopefully we are more like that, more like Christ Beja. You don’t keep repeating the same failures, mistakes, and sins. Now, why is it so important to become a Christ? Because the more we become like Jesus, the more we reveal the Father. Right? So you can’t reveal the heart of the father. You don’t just become any sons because you know the tree by the fruit. And it’s not talking about male or female agenda, it’s just talking about relationship with God because you put a bit of himself in both men and women. Right? And why so important? Because for lack of transformation, the church at large is sick or unhealthy. Z many times looks very successful. It is possible to be unhealthy, but it feels successful. And many times people don’t deal with health because their identity comes from their success and in the world, you don’t have to be a healthy corporation to be a successful company right there. A lot of successful companies and corporations with very unhealthy world culture and staff relationships. Very unhealthy leadership like, like dictators, you know, like people are just fired for no reason. They’re stuck on everybody. Oh, but they’re achieving the numbers, their performance. So likewise, in the body price, it is possible to be successful, but unhealthy. And that is why many people stop with the church. They walk away from all the back style because they say if Christians are like this. Why? Because Christians who don’t become like the son, don’t neglect the father and create problems, right? Despite all the information. And that is why it’s possible to have a whole lot information. But if you don’t change the way you think and your character, you behave just like the world though, your Christian, then you go to church, then a Bible school. So the purpose of knowledge is to renew our thinking, to transform us and become like the sun. So that now our identity is from relationship, not from our performance.
Serving and Leading as Sons
You know, everything Jesus did, he did as a son. He did not do as a servant, though we all talk about Jesus being the greatest servant he came to serve, but when he came out of the water that I, what did the father say? This is my ate slave. No, this is my T worker. No, this is my T servant. No. What did he say? This is my beloved son. God related to Jesus as a father to son, not by his job, not by his purpose, not by his assignment, by relationship, again, the wilderness. And why is this so important? Because the devil used that to term Jesus. Remember when the, when Jesus elected the wildness, one did the devil say, if you are the son of God, now there’s proof who you are. But Jesus not the proof who he was. He knew who he was, so he was not tempted. See, many times we don’t know who we are. If our identity is on external factors, we will always try to feel the urge to prove ourselves to people, why we are important, why we are somebody. We become very insecure. And insecurity is another form of fear. A lack of security is fear. When we are afraid, we become very controlling, become jealous, competitive. ’cause we’re not secure who we are. And so the church is not healthy and the Christians are not healthy because their identity is not in relationship as sons, but in their achievements and their acknowledge, in their back balance, in their, in their education. So we want to heal the church. You wanna be a healthy Christian, you wanna be a healthy brother, sister, son, daughter, father, mother, pastor, leader. We got to have the make of Christ and become all Christ. So when people see us, they see the father. That’s what it means. And Jesus prayed, father, the glory, the goodness you give me. I have given them that they may be one as you. Father and I are one. So how’s the father and son? One. For us to be one like the father and son simply means that we serve as sons and we lead the father. Right. So that, and if you don’t serve as a son, you can never leave as a father and you end up leaving in a very unhealthy way. You end up becoming a dictator, authoritarian, controlling, abusive, and, and if you are a Christian, you will hold scripture to justify your bad leadership. Submit, submit, submit all your disorder. Me father never did that with his son, said, Hey, my sons me. He loves me. Not because he’s afraid of vacuum. He doesn’t do what? Say. You see, when you are one out of love, there’s freedom. You know, God, one of the greatest signs of love is freedom to choose. The Father never forced Jesus to do anything. Jesus or chose to do the father’s school, he could have rebelled. He wanted to like Lucifer. You know, the third of the why, because they’re the free choice to see. See, we cannot truly love and we don’t have a choice not to. Right. You can’t fail a test if failure is not an option, right? Said, okay, this test, everybody gets a hundred percent. Oh, wonderful. I cannot never fail, right? So love is really possible. If not loving is a choice, it’s a possibility. So God wants us and giving just team to become like him so that we can be one on earth is the positive son of one in heaven, so that we can protect the presence of God through unity. So that we can be healthy and whole, which is a foundation for what we do. So for 30 years, Jesus had to grow in his identity as a son. He to grow in wisdom and stature and favor without a man 30 years. Imagine if his identity also in his works, he could got very angry with the father. God, why you keep me stuck in this house that just made for so many years? You know how many sick people are outside? You know how many I can feel? You know how many I can raise from the dead, you know? Everybody can follow me. They know who I am. Say patients that wait, the time will come. How long do they wait? Three weeks, 30 days. 30 weeks. 30 years. You very impatient. Let all the sick people die, and I them let at age 12 or 18. And only one father for three years too short. I can much minister for 13 years and father only 12 disciples. You know how I can do it. 24 disciples. See, it is not my my not my father, by history, saved by, and this is why the father said, you are my beloved son. Because Jesus was not driven by the expectations of men, nor wasn’t distracted by the opinions of men, nor wasn’t driven by a servant as a son. He trusted his father. He shouted his father’s timing. So God wants us to trust because in the waiting season, waiting for prayers to be answered, waiting for God to do what he did, he’s changing us, preparing us to handle the blessing. So, so Paul, we become like Christ, that when we become like Christ, we serve as a son. What’s a good example? The Restore Al. We do not serve as like a son. We become like the elder brother or the Portigal who left the house, right? They both were in the house. They both had a good father. But neither left me the heart of the father. Neither left were one with the father. The elder brother said like a servant. The was a consumer. Gimme, gimme, gimme. And then he asked for everything and left. The elder brother said, oh, you know, whatever I have is because I’m a good worker. Oh, what’s a healthy picture of? They just talk for when he came home. Now he walked in his true inheritance. Now, everything the father had was his. It wasn’t just inheritance of cash. Everything the father had was his. The rope, the rig, the shoes. He represented his father. Now, now you see the restore article. You see the father, that’s what we call to be. So now the son and his father one. So we don’t become more like Christ and our minds are not renewed. We become like the elder brother of the people or like the church of here. Remember the church, they’re also busy working inside the house. So busy. They didn’t Jesus outside coming to come in so they can do so much without the presence of God. You can do so much without God. You can do so much. Even making a rocket to take you to space. With the moon, though, you’re not a believer, remember this, the first time God intervened in the affairs of man was the tower. People remember the tower people. He says, Hey, these people are one so united. Anything they want to do, they will do. I better about it because the identity is not me. So people can be one independent of God and do great things, but God is not in him. And these are the works that will be tested by fire and of no eternal value. And earth is impresses a lot of people, but God knows it wasn’t done with his presence, it was done. The servants are not as sons and daughters, and that is why we need to become more like him, number one, so they become healthy and not just successful.
Inheritance Through Sonship
That’s why every king in Israel was shaped or transformed as a son of the house. Even David. Remember David’s beginning? He didn’t, he wasn’t born on this road. He was a shepherd boy, right? He was, his first job was go deliver food to his brothers. They were the ones who are in the army fighting. And David was, yes, dad wanted, want to do okay, take food. That’s how he discovered Goliath. He was just taking, looking after his fathership. He was trained as a son. What about King of Kings? He was trained as a son. An imperfect house, an imperfect family, and the Son of Man became the King of King. See, the character for Kingdom Authority begins in ship. You know how to honor and submit to imperfect leaders so there is an inheritance. So the other reason why it’s so important to become the Christ so that we serve as sons, a indeed as father, but because fathers carry an inheritance for those who know how to honor them. And I said, that’s the goodness of the father. Every blessing upon a child is like a head start from the parent on, right. Whatever. They have the house. Well, you know, the child goes to school. Primary school, secondary school. The fancy. Oh, the big man. Lucky my mother. Money for the house. So it is an inheritance of the child, right? Some other children, they live in a tiny hu well, small place, whatever that is. They didn’t buy, they didn’t like, they didn’t know who for it was whatever their father provided. So it’s an inheritance. So just as the natural is an inheritance, that a crucial inheritance, the A inheritance that is only received by those who can discern it, recognize it. See, not many people recognize their father’s goodness. They think God is not good. Even God is so good. Why all these problems? You know, whatever. Good in my life, I work hard. Likewise is a spiritual inheritance. In other words, what those in the family got received that they couldn’t work for. And we see this right in the Old Testament from the passover hundred Passover. You know why the digital lights were saved from the, from the plate, from from the death of the first born, because they all had the father’s house to go into, right? You didn’t say, go to your own house, or Go to your friend’s house, or go to your brother’s and sister’s house. Go to your father’s house and make sure the blood is on the door of the house, not on it. Because God is a father of a family, not only child. You have one land family. And that’s why we pray our father heaven, not my father, because he is revealed in our relationships and we are all isolated and alone and independent. You do not know how much of him is in us. ’cause as we. And walk together and ate each other, provoke each other. We never discover what’s in this. How can you say you love me, who we cannot see? You can’t love your brother, who we can see. So the Israelites received an inheritance simply by honoring what did they had a fence with the father? We’ll, just my father’s house. You know, you let ready, but can you put on me my father’s house? He would’ve died in the place. How was the of. He go to the house, right? The threat this car said was tied to the window of the wall where Josh and cater, where the two spies were hiding. Was it any work she performed besides saving the two spies? No. How about all the others were saved in the house? Did they save the spies? No. But they believed the word through faith received an inheritance. The lives were spread as a family of faith. What about that case? Remember that case? The Philippine J. What’s unique about that? They were individuals, spiritual, hands of the family because of their faith. Salvation came to the house. That’s the inheritance over and over. That’s why Joshua said it is for me in my house. Does that mean it’s guaranteed? No. You see when, when God chose not to be safe from Mamo, there was grace on this whole family, but they had to receive gift at the end of the day. When God’s mercy, the angels pulled his two daughters to safety. The, the married daughters were supposed to be saved and their husbands, but they didn’t believe. They thought God was joking, but God was gonna spare his extended family because of his faith. They were able to partake on the inheritance if they believed. Unlike Noah family believe, see, God will be found God righteous, but because his wife and kids belief, they all saved in the back. He could have thought, what’s wrong with, you know, crazy old man? What is rain? What is the big, big thing they’re building, huh? No water. What is this? They believe and because through faith they received an inheritance, not because they works. God did not find the wife of no righteous. He did not find the children of no righteous, only Noah because of Noah’s heart family, if they believed in the received inheritance. You see? So this is the importance of. Being a spiritual head, whether you’re male or female, because not every house has a father in the house, so the mother’s like the spiritual head. But in the local church, everybody who can have a spiritual mother, which is one reason why God established a church, and this is why when, when you read Timothy and Titus. You see Paul give Timothy instruction on where to find leaders for his church. You know where Paul said Timothy to look for leadership? Did he say Timothy, go to all the synagogues, go to all the Bible colleges and look at the top students? Did he say that? No. The Timothy, go look for families that follow me and note the men at the house are painful husbands and fathers, their potential leaders. It wasn’t their by knowledge, it wasn’t their gifts. Because the purpose of knowledge is your relationship. If you can leave your own family in the ways of Christ, you can eat this people
right? Which is why all rights to the church in Corinth and one Corinthians four 15, though you may have 10,000 teachers in Christ, you don’t have any fathers. The Paul says, in Christ, I given birth to you to the gospel. So imitate me. Was 17 for this reason I sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and grateful son who remind you of my ways in Christ as I teach everywhere. Paul wasn’t perfect and I know Timothy, but why made Paul a father his son? ’cause Paul knew the ways in Christ. What does that mean? He was, he was being transformed to the image of Christ and becoming like the son of the father. Right. And so Timothy was a son because Timothy could discern the way the Christ and Paul, not every way of Paul. ’cause Paul was like, Paul had raised the word right. He was a work in progress too. But this is the difference between sons and servant and servants. Define this by Israel. What kind of pass back can I pass? What can father, what can I, but there’s no perfect father, mother. The, the thing is, as long as the person authority is not killing you, okay? That’s what the devil tries to do, okay? It’s a, it is a misplaced love and honor. He says, yeah, you know, you’re supposed to honor lover, so gonna make a leader kill you and make you think it’s your honoring. And that’s about, that’s to, that’s why the foundation of love is wisdom. You not have wisdom. You become a slave to unhealthy leadership, and the devil will rock destiny, putting man before God. And sometimes put lot of man, they say, Hey, are the expectations of the leaders in my life? Whether is my father, my mother, whoever it is, are they keeping me from doing what the path wants? And I bring back before my father in heaven, you know that all the toxic leaders of Jesus are to leave the households Eliza, because most of the his leaders were working with the father, the father’s business, doing the boats fishing maning nets. Jesus, come follow me. Okay, bye. No, Jesus don’t. One guy didn’t want to. He said, I wanna wait until my father die us. What did Jesus say? Honoring someone. Let it wow. Said What kind of son is so rooted is honoring whoever does. My father is my family. The son. Course a discipleship is, can report their own family and many have brought themselves to the destiny that they put their blood family without the father. There’s a price that you willing to pay the price.
The Church as the Father’s House
The purpose of the church is to model the father’s house. You know, Jesus called heaven, his father’s house. That’s why the church is building, is meant to be a house of fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers and sisters. It’s not about title, it’s not about calling people. Now everybody calls everybody brothers, sister, but within everybody calls Father Catholics and the father. Father, nobody Call me father. Okay. It’s not the title, it’s the relationship of honor. So why, why, why did the, why had the denomination or the ation of calling the the senior priest father? Why? ’cause it comes from the word because God is the father of his house. The Jesus in my father’s house, I made mentions he didn’t say in my father’s kingdom or in, in, in my father’s house, which means family. ’cause family is father’s house. So that’s why every church is called to be a family, to be led by. Those becoming like the son who lead as father, whether you’re a man or woman. See, because people, Christians, many Christians are raised in broken families, unsafe parents, single parents. So how is God gonna restore the family we were meant to have as children to the local church? So, so that every believer, no matter what the status of your own family is, you can have a healthy family in the church. Not a perfect family. But a family who knows that God’s hearts to become like the son so that they can be his fathers, so that they can be one as fathers and sons. And when you have the unity relationally in, you see, this is why Mr. Fell you, Mr. Fell. He had great anointing, very good singer, musician worship either, but he didn’t know the fathers heart. He was not one with the father. So there’s nothing wrong with his job performance. Job performance, hundred percent. What was wrong with the attitude of which he said, the white. I give worship to God, I should be receiving worship. You see, unlike Jesus, so in the perfect environment of heaven with the perfect leader who suffer love. And so the Father said, let show the world what sons look like. So his son, his son, he sent his son to very imperfect world. Unlike heaven, it was imperfect people. So Jesus was born as a baby in an imperfect house, imperfect father, mother, imperfect siblings who didn’t believe him most of the time, and he passed his test assumption. In a perfect environment, do fail the test in an imperfect environment on earth. Jesus passed the test. At the end of the day, it is not your external micro response, right? ’cause the devil couldn’t say, the devil made do it. He was the first step. You couldn’t blame anybody. And so this is why God has the law is building his house on Earth as it just in heaven, so that those who come from broken families. So it’s not just about. Oh, I have my, I have a dad, mom. I don’t need the church because not many, even Christian fathers and mothers know about becoming more like Christ. Their minds are not, they’re just informed. Maybe they day knowledge, but their hearts already dysfunctional. They mean they use their position to control you, to stop you from obey God. See? Just because, because not the kid, Mary was a good mom, right? God chose her to raise Jesus. Yeah. But when she came to stopping from ministry, thinking here, gone crazy, what did Jesus reply? Who’s my mother? Who’s my mother? ’cause she was not in the father’s world at the time, so she wasn’t evil, but she was posing him from in the father’s world. So we have to be so careful that, that the enemy doesn’t use blood to stop the stop being the father in heaven. And this is, I’m gonna end, end here with, with, uh. You know, just a t remind people of false ways to Christ. When you walk as sons and daughters, you cannot remind people of strengths and the ways of those who walk with in leadership in your life. It could be your own parent, it could be, shouldn’t be the pastor. ’cause ideally, believe every church leader should have the travel issue. Okay? I don’t want to lead as a boss. I want lead as a special father. Why? Because I serve as a son. I didn’t serve as a servant and I never stopped serving. Right till the day we went on the appointments of taking down tables and chairs. Oh, now I’m the senior pastor. I cannot do all that. Jesus never stopped serving. And you serve as a sun. See, if you don’t serve as a son, you will think of serving as degrading. Why are serving you? Think I’m a servant. If you know who you are, Christ, the serving doesn’t make you less. You make the serving medical. You know when? When. Today when people don’t have the identity in Christ, they try to get value by the things they have, right? So they want expensive metals, gold. But guess what? When the Queen, when King Charles buys plastic, the plastic becomes royal royal plastic because they king bought the royal to buy gold. We don’t get a battery from what we have who? So now, wow, so and so Jesus is serving. I want to serve too. If the king of glory can serve, it’s amazing. I’m want give married to serve because I know who I am serving. In the south, everybody serves. I don’t know if the king of king served. How much are you in? You see your identity shifts your thinking. Do you know who you are in Christ? Are you serving as a son like a brother particle? ’cause you don’t serve like the restore particle, you end up an unhealthy leader. You know, speak down, you criticize, be negative. Compare those who are leading you keep them. They better be better than me. You know, I have to be the best in everything. You become insecure, but we can still achieve a lot and look successful, but not very healthy. So this is a father team as so all the end. This, because this is one of the strengths as as my wife shared, you know, there’s no perfect person, father, mother. I’m not, I was my dad, but I’m so thankful that the spiritual inheritance I received, right? And one of the, I think one of the foundational things that I received by, by watching him is I caught his, um, love of the Lord, the passion to cut this and the cost of laying down his medical career in better price. But really what he gained ly far was far more than what he, he lost materially. You know, as a, as a medical doctor in Kia, we had an amazing house, big house, five in the hospital level, five bathrooms, five bedroom rooms, and, and he was working in the top of a bank seat of corporate patients and got sent into, we had to rent a tiny house because he couldn’t manage two places yet, suddenly cut for in half one story, three bedroom a time. People for what he gained was far more value than what he lost. That’s what Paul says. What is it to gave the whole, the soul Moses was raised in the riches of of pH palace, but he gave it up to be God. ’cause at the end of the day at time, my is a link of an right. So I receive. I thank God that hey, I’ve seen the power of the Holy Spirit my day. I know Jesus is 20 years a day ’cause that’s people free the restore. So I knew, and I many people that it’s not just a history book, the Bible. But what Jesus, in the book of Acts, the disciples did Jesus, who today, and another inheritance is there’s so many people who may be impacted that have blessed me in my house because they’re blessed by dead. So I united the favor. Oh, your father so good. I got saved to his ministry. That’s what they blessed is nothing I did. But, but there’s still grateful for, for that, that I get blessed for my family, my my parents generation friends also vocation, bless opportunities for ministry. Even in Penang. You know, I don’t believe I’ve used in Penang because of I’m the first generation salvation. Most pastor in Penang know who my dad is. Not that that guarantees anything in the government. Use relationship to open doors, but they make appointment to keep the doors open. That’s why. Shut, right? So that’s what parents with the open wealth opportunities, but the favor of God and your life. Keep the doors open and make it all. So in a way, it’s good. Today is a new door. That’s a huge door. This front off a new door. Can open doors, open doors, you know, expect and expect and you know, it’s like, and, and, um, I’m just reminded how Abraham was called father many nations when he couldn’t conceive in the natural right. Though he was distinct meditation, God gave him a better wife until they got so old and couldn’t do what many more people could do when they young. Now God says, okay, another, the tool to do yourself. I’ll show you what I can do through there. Metimes, God waits to, we cannot do it without him. ’cause if we can do it without him, he won’t get the glory, evil. So finally, God gives him a child. Guess what, only two boys. Half of that was the chosen one. Isaac. And even because God and Abraham could gone and God, he said, man, nations what? You only gimme one son. I now the the next generation, I have many nations. Who’s addiction? Isaac gives birth to two boys. Hi, yo. What’s wrong there? We, the medication, another two sons. How long had to wait? It was only Jacob that had four sons. But the main thing is we don’t realize that they were 12 sons from four mothers. But we don’t see the, the, the, the 12 climbs of one mother. You see, the 12 tribes of one father is a parallel that the inheritance comes from the father. So he said, A pastor, I don’t have a father. I didn’t go up with a father. Or he is not a believer, or he is not calling you. Hey, that’s why I give you the church. Hopefully the church, again knows about special inheritance, knows about serving as as sons, leading as fathers so that you can step into the inheritance and go further. Even, even for my kids, again, the judge inherited, received from dad. I didn’t pay for my school fees to go to the lab. I was a student there, but he was still adopted at the time. So. And, uh, because I was a student there, I got the email one day when, when, after I was married, they’re looking for teachers. So that’s how I heard, Hey Chantel, they’re looking for teachers. So she got a job because I was a student, because that, God bless that to provide me there. And because my wife was able to work there, my kids could study there. And because my wife’s an American, my kids were born as Americans. They could study in America. Nothing they could work for. Nothing I could work for was what we received. Even, even how my wife and I met pastor, I met because dad released minister, somebody who may remember Sebastian to Sweden and two of the students at Bible school in Sweden, she said, I think you need to spend six months from my church in Ukraine. And during the six months they led an American to the law. Ended up studying where my wife was studying, who told her on me and told me about that. How it’s all connected school, my wife there, so many things I can trace back what I see God’s hands to my dad. So many opportunities, even my children have, it’s not because they will revenge it, it’s they receive as inheritance of relationship, favor of it’s come down. The generations not we protect. So I wanna encourage you this morning, remember that God is good even when you don’t understand. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean up on you when you need to apply that, then things don’t go the way you expect. But God give you a good wife. Don’t mean understanding, but I’m a good father. I’ll make all this work together for going to make you more like me so that you can serve like a son and like a father and you. Just because you don’t have a title, position doesn’t mean you’re not a leader. Everybody needs our influence. You influence your friends. You influence people. Leadership is more about influence. Some are title, some don’t. Some are position, some Don, but everyone has influence based on relationship. So you want to influence like a father. Become like a son. So like Jesus, he, you can say, Hey, you see me, you see my father, you see me, you see his heart. Whatever I do, I want glorify you on Serve Son. And that’s what’s gonna make Father’s Day. Remember the phrase, make my day. God wants us to make his day every day. It’s all about God. And when I stand together,
Closing Prayer and Benediction
thank you Father Lord. We just thank you, father for the gift of Fathers. That’s the greatest inheritance we have. We didn’t choose our fathers and you give you bless us Lord, the Fathers, to give us the head start that many others did. So we thank you for what we received. We thank you for what we had, that we can build upon that, that we can lay a foundation for the next generation to go further and higher than we did launch. And we thank you, father for. Is the second, the, the, the, the situation that even our parent generation grew up in. Thank God, God, that we are not bordering World War II or World War War during crisis and, and, and may that rise. God, we thank you for relative peace. We were born and raised in love, and we thank you, father for your grace to save us, father, and even to bring us together here in this house to be reminded and to know of your heart first, all that you just don’t want it to be productive and, and, and do a lot of things. But you want to restore the foundation of becoming more like you. And we don’t serve as servant states by a sense that we would not need unhealthy leaders at the heart of the Father, that we may be one on earth as you, your father, one in your father’s house, that your house, Jesus, that your building to be a father’s house on earth. We heal and destroy every heart for your father. Even those that be hurt or wounded by and have leadership, whether it’s their own parents or, or. Former pastors, leaders. Father, I pray father for healing and restoration. Father, you will release and reveal your heart for us as Father. We thank you for your merciful to us, your kind to us. Lord, we thank you for not dealing with us as we deserve. We thank you for your grace investing us what we don’t deserve, Lord, and we thank you Father, for giving us a revelation of dear glory in our lives. That we will take nothing for granted, that we will not have a sense of entitlement, that we deserve anything, that we deserve. Nothing, but we’re all sin by you. Jesus. So we thank you for your blessing. It exceeds what we deserve now, and we thank you, Jesus for that. The knowledge of your goodness may draw us closer to you to grow in gratitude, to grow independence, to grow. Humility. Father, the will recognized inheritance to ness, to our ability. Uh, lead us in Christ, we, our, our parents or pastors. Lord, we just thank you, father, for revelation of our inheritance and that you help us represent you well, Jesus, for your freedoms in your image. Male and female image, we start that image from we start that image. Your house will be one that we will host your presence, host your glory, that those darkness will come to the light ’cause they can see a love for one another as a family of faith. We thank you, we praise, we bless each one here. Father, you and some may be the head of their house, even their their fathers by influence Fathers, the young people they influence. Lord, we just thank Father Grace. To be like fathers and mothers, to those who have none or none who are following you, none are walking in your way as well. That the young ones and they influence. See your father in them. We just thank you Lord for your grace. We thank you for your mercy me word for this morning and not return to your boy, but accomplish what you please and course for the reason for which you sent it. Thank you, father for blessing us and keeping us, for making a patient upon us and being gracious to us. Thank you for letting up your countenance upon us and giving us your peace. The deliver the Father, the grace for Lord Jesus Christ and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit. Be with us all now, always, and everyone said, amen.
