July 11: Friday: “Passionate Pursuit 🔥💯”

In a Nutshell

Lukewarm faith produces lukewarm results. The woman with the issue of blood didn’t politely ask Jesus for healing—she fought through crowds, risked public shame, and pressed through obstacles with desperate determination. When did you last want something from God that badly?

Anchor Verse (NIV)

“From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.” – Matthew 11:12

Unpacking the Word

The woman with the issue of blood was considered “unclean” by Jewish law. She wasn’t supposed to be in public, let alone touching a rabbi. But her desperation drove her to take risks. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” This wasn’t casual faith—this was passionate, determined, all-or-nothing faith.

Elijah prayed passionately, and it didn’t rain for three and a half years. When he prayed again, the heavens opened. The Bible says he was “a man just like us,” but he prayed with intensity and expectation. Passionate faith isn’t about being emotional—it’s about being desperate enough to pursue God with everything you have, regardless of obstacles or appearances.

Faith in Action

  • When did I last pursue God with desperate determination?
  • What obstacles am I allowing to keep me from pressing through to God?
  • Action Step: Identify one area where you’ve been casual in your faith, and commit to pursuing God passionately in that area this week.

A Moment With God

“Lord, ignite a holy desperation in my heart. Help me pursue You with the same intensity as those who received their miracles. I refuse to settle for lukewarm faith. Amen.”
