In a Nutshell
You’re about to step into God’s presence with hundreds of other believers. But will you encounter Him, or will you just attend another service? The difference between religious routine and life-changing encounter depends on what you bring to the moment—specifically, the faith that works.
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” – Hebrews 11:1
Unpacking the Word
Today isn’t just Sunday—it’s an appointment with the Almighty. The same God who walked on water, calmed storms, and multiplied loaves is present in your service today. But here’s the key: He responds to faith. The woman with the issue of blood didn’t just get near Jesus—she touched Him with expectant faith and received power.
What you’ve learned this week about storm-proof faith, godly fear, testimony power, heart examination, passionate pursuit, and love-powered faith—it all comes together in this moment. You’re not just attending church; you’re positioning yourself for an encounter with the living God. Come expecting, come hungry, come ready to receive what only He can give.
Faith in Action
- What do I need from God today that only He can provide?
- Am I coming to be entertained or to encounter the living God?
- Action Step: Before service begins, declare one specific area where you need God to move, and expect Him to respond to your faith.
A Moment With God
“Lord, I come not as a spectator but as a desperate believer. I need You to move in my life today. Help me encounter You with the kind of faith that works—faith that expects, receives, and is never disappointed. Amen.”
All of this week’s devotionals are based on the sermon Pastor Alfred Ee shared on Sunday, July 6, 2025 – Faith That Works in Life’s Storms.
