July 3: Thursday: “From Pit to Palace 🏰⬆️”

In a Nutshell

Your current circumstances don’t define your destiny. That betrayal, that injustice, that setback that felt like the end of your story—what if it’s actually the beginning of your promotion? Sometimes God uses our worst experiences to position us for our greatest breakthroughs. The pit isn’t punishment; it’s preparation for the palace.

Anchor Verse (NIV)

“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” – Genesis 50:20

Unpacking the Word

Joseph’s story reveals God’s masterful ability to weave even betrayal and injustice into His perfect plan. His brothers’ jealousy led to a pit, then to slavery, then to false accusation and prison. Each step seemed to take him further from his dream of leadership. But God was orchestrating every detail—even the painful ones.

Mrs. Potiphar’s false accusation put Joseph in prison, but that’s where he met the cupbearer who would later recommend him to Pharaoh. The very injustice that seemed to destroy Joseph’s future was actually positioning him for his destiny. Without the prison, there would be no palace. Without the cupbearer, there would be no introduction to Pharaoh.

Faith in Action

  • What painful experience in my past now makes sense as preparation for where I am today?
  • How might my current struggles be positioning me for future breakthrough?
  • Action Step: Write down one difficult situation you’re facing and ask God to show you how it might be preparing you for something greater.

A Moment With God

“Father, help me trust Your sovereignty even in painful circumstances. When I can’t see the purpose, remind me that You’re writing a story bigger than my present chapter. Turn my pit experiences into palace preparations. Amen.”
