In a Nutshell
When David faced Goliath, he didn’t focus on the giant’s size or his own inexperience. Instead, he declared, “I have killed the lion and the bear!” Your past victories aren’t just memoriesโthey’re ammunition for your current battles. But do you remember how to use them?
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” – Revelation 12:11
Unpacking the Word
When King Saul tried to discourage David from fighting Goliath, pointing out his youth and inexperience, David responded with his testimony. He didn’t argue about military strategy or compare armorโhe simply recalled what God had already done. The lion and bear weren’t just past victories; they were proof of God’s faithfulness and power working through him.
Your testimony is your spiritual rรฉsumรฉ. It’s evidence that God shows up, delivers, provides, and protects. When new challenges arise, Satan wants you to forget your track record with God. He wants you to focus on the size of your current problem rather than the size of your proven God. But a testimony-based faith says, “If God did it before, He can do it again.”
Faith in Action
- What “lions and bears” has God helped me defeat in the past?
- Am I sharing my testimony with others who need encouragement?
- Action Step: Write down three specific times God came through for you, and share one with someone facing a similar challenge.
A Moment With God
