June 5: Thursday: “Gratitude Glue ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’”

In a Nutshell

The Israelites died in the wilderness not because of external enemies, but because they forgot to be grateful for God’s goodness. Ingratitude is a relationship killer that magnifies problems and minimizes blessings.

Anchor Verse (NIV)

“Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.” – Isaiah 46:9

Unpacking the Word

Memory is selective. We tend to remember hurts longer than helps, problems longer than provisions. The Israelites forgot the miraculous Red Sea crossing and focused on missing Egyptian food. This selective memory poisoned their hearts with ingratitude and ultimately killed their destiny.

Gratitude is the glue that holds relationships togetherโ€”with God and others. When we rehearse blessings instead of complaints, when we remember what people have done for us instead of what they haven’t, something powerful happens. Our perspective shifts from scarcity to abundance, from entitlement to appreciation.

Faith in Action

What blessing have you taken for granted that deserves fresh gratitude? Who in your life needs to hear “thank you” for something they’ve done? Action Step: Write a gratitude text to someone who has impacted your life positively.

A Moment With God

“God, forgive me for focusing on what’s missing instead of celebrating what You’ve provided. Fill my heart with gratitude. Amen.”
