In a Nutshell
God doesn’t see you as you are—He sees you as you can become. The same God who took broken people and made them pastors and leaders sees incredible potential in your current mess.
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“But the LORD said to Samuel, ‘Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.’” – 1 Samuel 16:7
Unpacking the Word
Some of today’s most powerful ministers were once the biggest messes—former addicts, ex-convicts, broken people who encountered God’s transforming love. Even Saul the terrorist became Paul the apostle. In Jesus, there’s no hopeless case.
When people look at your life, they might see problems, failures, or limitations. But God has X-ray vision that sees through the mess to the masterpiece He’s creating. He sees not just who you are, but who you’re becoming. Your current chapter isn’t your final story.
Faith in Action
What limitation are you allowing to define your potential? How might God want to use your past struggles to help others? Action Step: Ask God to show you one way He wants to use your experience to bless someone else.
A Moment With God
“Lord, thank You for seeing potential where others see problems. Transform my mess into a message of hope for others. Amen.”
