In a Nutshell
What if the supernatural isn’t meant to be rare Sunday-only events but the normal operating system for believers? The early church didn’t chase signs and wonders—they walked in Spirit-empowered authority that naturally produced miraculous results. Are we settling for natural when God offers supernatural?
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” – John 14:12
Unpacking the Word
We’ve somehow normalized powerless Christianity, making the supernatural seem abnormal or suspicious. Yet Jesus promised that believers would not only do His works but greater works. This wasn’t for special ministers or particularly gifted individuals—it was for “whoever believes.”
The early believers didn’t have church buildings, sound systems, or organized programs, yet they turned the world upside down. They had something we often miss: expectation of supernatural intervention in everyday life. They prayed for the sick expecting healing, spoke to storms expecting calm, and proclaimed the Gospel expecting transformation.
Faith in Action
- Where have I settled for natural solutions instead of seeking supernatural intervention?
- What would change if I truly expected God to work supernaturally through me?
Action Step:
This week, pray for someone’s healing or breakthrough with genuine expectation, not just religious routine.
A Moment With God
“Lord, forgive me for settling for natural when You’ve offered supernatural. Increase my faith to expect Your power to work through me in everyday situations. Let supernatural become my normal. Amen.”
