In a Nutshell
You’ve been trying to break through for months, maybe years. The same people keep saying no, the same doors keep slamming shut, and you’re wondering if God has forgotten your dreams. But what if God is about to remove the very obstacles that have been blocking your path? Sometimes He has to clear out the gatekeepers who weren’t meant to be part of your story.
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
Unpacking the Word
Pastor Paul’s visa rejection story reveals a powerful truth: God sometimes removes people from our path who aren’t aligned with His plans for us. The hostile receptionist at the Australian High Commission wasn’t just difficultβshe was an obstacle to God’s purposes. When God spoke to Pastor Paul to return one more time, the woman was gone, replaced by Esther, whose name means “for such a time as this.”
Notice that Pastor Paul didn’t fight, argue, or try to manipulate the situation. He simply obeyed when God said to go back. Sometimes our greatest breakthrough comes not from our efforts to push through resistance, but from our willingness to wait for God’s perfect timing and divine intervention.
Faith in Action
- What gatekeepers in my life have been consistently blocking my progress?
- Am I trying to force doors open that God wants to open in His timing?
- Action Step: Instead of fighting the next “no” you encounter, ask God if this is a door He wants to open or if you should wait for His timing.
A Moment With God
“Lord, I surrender my timeline to You. Remove the obstacles that aren’t from You, and help me recognize when You’re clearing the path. Give me patience to wait for Your perfect timing and wisdom to walk through the doors You open. Amen.”
