July 2: Wednesday: “The Barnabas Factor 🤝💪”

In a Nutshell

You have incredible potential, but nobody seems to see it. You’re gifted, called, and ready, but the right people haven’t noticed you yet. Here’s what you need to know: God has a Barnabas assigned to your life—someone who will see your potential, advocate for you, and open doors you couldn’t open yourself. Your job isn’t to force recognition; it’s to be faithful where you are until your Barnabas shows up.

Anchor Verse (NIV)

“But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.” – Acts 9:27

Unpacking the Word

When Saul became Paul, nobody trusted him. His radical conversion was private—no one witnessed Jesus knocking him off his horse or Ananias praying for his sight. To everyone else, he was still the guy who had been throwing Christians in prison. Every door was closed, every relationship was severed, and his ministry seemed over before it began.

Enter Barnabas, whose name means “son of encouragement.” Barnabas didn’t just believe in Paul; he advocated for him. He extended fellowship when others offered fear. He brought Paul to the apostles and essentially said, “You need to give this man a chance.” Without Barnabas, Paul’s ministry might have died in obscurity. Today, we have most of the New Testament because one man chose to be a bridge-builder.

Faith in Action

  • Who in my life needs a Barnabas right now—someone who needs an advocate or encourager?
  • Am I being faithful in my current season while waiting for my own Barnabas moment?
  • Action Step: Be a Barnabas to someone this week—advocate for them, introduce them to someone who could help, or simply encourage their dreams.

A Moment With God

“God, thank You for the Barnabas figures You’ve placed in my life. Help me recognize them and receive their help with humility. Also make me a Barnabas to others—give me eyes to see potential in people others might overlook. Amen.”
