July 8: Tuesday: “The Fear Factor πŸ˜¨πŸ™”

In a Nutshell

We live in a world that’s forgotten how to fear Godβ€”and it shows. From global politics to personal relationships, the absence of godly fear has created chaos. But what if the missing ingredient in your faith isn’t more knowledge or better circumstances, but a healthy fear of the Almighty?

Anchor Verse (NIV)

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” – Proverbs 9:10

Unpacking the Word

Joseph spent 13 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused by his master’s wife, forgotten by those he helpedβ€”yet he never lost his faith. Why? When tempted to sin, he declared, “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” His fear of God was stronger than his fear of consequences.

Today’s world has lost this reverence. We treat God like a cosmic buddy instead of the Holy One who spoke galaxies into existence. We’ve made church optional, prayer occasional, and obedience negotiable. But the fear of God isn’t about cowering in terrorβ€”it’s about recognizing His absolute authority and responding with appropriate reverence, obedience, and trust.

Faith in Action

  • Do I treat God with the reverence He deserves, or have I become too casual?
  • What area of my life shows I fear circumstances more than I fear God?
  • Action Step: Before making any decision today, ask yourself: “What would someone who truly fears God do in this situation?”

A Moment With God

“Lord, restore in me a healthy fear of You. Help me remember that You are holy, mighty, and deserving of my complete reverence and obedience. Amen.”
