Your thoughts are under attack, and the enemy’s primary weapon isn’t external circumstances—it’s internal doubt about God’s goodness. Today we explore how Satan’s oldest trick is questioning whether God truly has your best interests at heart, and how faith becomes your shield against his lies.
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23
Unpacking the Word
In the Garden of Eden, Satan didn’t tempt Eve with obviously evil things. Instead, he whispered doubts about God’s motivation: “Did God really say…? He’s holding something back from you.” This same strategy plays out in our minds today. When facing challenges, the enemy whispers: “If God really loved you, this wouldn’t be happening.”
The root of all disobedience isn’t external pressure—it’s internal unbelief. When we question God’s goodness, we have no foundation for faith. Peter walked on water by keeping his eyes on Jesus, not on the storm. The moment he focused on the waves, he sank. Similarly, when we focus on what God hasn’t done instead of what He has done, our faith drowns in doubt.
