Imagine standing before three doors: one leads to abundant life, another to spiritual death, and the third to uncertain wandering. The host tells you exactly what’s behind each door and even recommends the best choice. Yet surprisingly, many people still choose the flashy door or the mystery option over the door marked “LIFE.” Sound familiar? This is the daily reality we all face.

Unpacking the Word

Moses wasn’t speaking to ancient people about ancient problems—he was addressing the timeless human condition. Every day, we stand before the same three doors. Door one represents God’s way: life, purpose, meaningful relationships, and divine blessing. Door two appears glamorous but leads to spiritual emptiness and broken connections. Door three offers the illusion of independence—figuring life out on our own terms.

The tragedy isn’t that we don’t know which door to choose. Moses literally tells us the answer: “Choose life!” The tragedy is that even with inside information, we’re often drawn to the flashy alternatives or the false promise of self-reliance. But here’s the beautiful truth: God doesn’t leave us guessing. His way is clearly marked, and He’s rooting for our success.

Which “door” am I most tempted to choose when facing difficult decisions? What would change in my daily routine if I truly believed God’s way leads to life? Action Step: Before making any significant decision today, pause and ask, “Which choice leads to life?”
