In a Nutshell
You always talk about what you’re full of. Holiday plans, new purchases, latest achievements—our conversations reveal our heart’s contents. So why do Christians struggle to naturally speak about the most amazing reality in their lives? The answer isn’t more training; it’s more filling.
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” – Matthew 12:34
Unpacking the Word
On Pentecost, something remarkable happened. The disciples didn’t attend a witnessing seminar or practice their testimonies. They were simply filled with the Holy Spirit, and supernatural overflow occurred. They began speaking in languages they’d never learned, declaring “the wonderful works of God” to people from every nation.
Think about social media for a moment. People effortlessly post about their passions—food, travel, relationships, hobbies. No one has to coach them on content creation because they’re genuinely excited. When the Holy Spirit fills believers, the same principle applies spiritually. Witness becomes as natural as breathing because you can’t contain what overwhelms you.
Faith in Action
- What do my conversations this week reveal about what I’m truly full of?
- Am I more excited about temporary things than eternal realities?
Action Step:
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you so completely that talking about God becomes as natural as discussing your favorite topics.
A Moment With God
“Lord, let my heart overflow with You so much that others can’t help but hear about Your goodness in my everyday conversations. Fill me until speaking of You becomes effortless. Amen.”ut in supernatural demonstration. Amen.”
