In a Nutshell
Moses asked to see God’s glory, expecting a divine light show. Instead, God said, “I will make my goodness pass before you.” Could it be that what we call God’s power is actually His goodness in action? And what happens when we finally recognize the difference?
Anchor Verse (NIV)
“And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, ‘The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.’” – Exodus 34:6
Unpacking the Word
When we think of God’s glory, we often imagine overwhelming powerโearthquakes, fire, blinding light. But when Moses requested a glimpse of divine glory, God revealed His goodness instead. This wasn’t a lesser revelation; it was the very essence of who God is. His power flows from His goodness, not the other way around.
The earth is already filled with God’s glory, but we lack the knowledge to recognize it. Like someone standing in a garden but wearing sunglasses that block the colors, we miss the beauty surrounding us daily. God’s goodness operates in the favor we receive, the health we wake up with, the relationships that sustain us, and the opportunities that appear “coincidentally.” The goal isn’t just to see His goodnessโit’s to let that recognition transform how we think and live.

A Moment With God
“Lord, help me see Your glory in Your goodness. Open my eyes to recognize Your hand in the everyday blessings I take for granted. Transform my heart through this revelation. Amen.”
